The Grand Rapids airport is getting an update to their business centers. Re-named “Traveler Work Center” and using hot new products from Steelcase. We brought life to the space with a shock of bright blue.
Nurture, a Steelcase Company, is all about the world of Healthcare. Tasked with introducing a new cart called Pocket we created a feature area in the front of the booth that was very accessible from all sides to pull people in and to experience how effortlessly the cart moves across the floor. The monitors helped explain the story. True to Nurture’s showroom strategy the booth was a story, told by environments, that give you the feeling that you are in an actual clinic. Further ensuring understanding the product and reinforcing that Nurture is a leader in Healthcare.
Held in Toronto’s Koerner Hall; a beautiful building to work in. I had to step carefully to not spoil the thoughtful design of the building. Working with Moses and team was a blast. We brought in the best Steelcase products and created a variety of collaborative settings – some more focused on work and some more focused on enabling connectivity.
The new look for Nurture in New York is working and everyone seems to love it – so we took the Chicago showroom in the same direction. Healthcare can look sleek and sexy. I love the challenge of taking the product line and, with the change of finishes and architecture, creating an entirely different feel.
I was asked to transform an empty shell of a space into a setting that makes people feel like they are having a conversation in their living room. A tough request but with the use of lounge furniture, residential lighting, nesting settings on risers – it came close. The client was thrilled.
After several years of creating a warm earthy palette for Nurture, we wanted to take the aesthetic in a new direction; challenging ourselves to create a healthcare setting that is modern and clean, yet still has a connection back to nature. The New York showroom for Nurture was the perfect stage to shine a new light on. Our inspiration was the gray and gold tones found in the fall colors of the ginkgo tree.
